April 5th, 2022
Dear Parents,
Assalaam o aleikum. Ramadan Kareem.
The next session will begin on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022. The school gates will open at 7:00AM and close at 7:30AM sharp. Throughout Ramadan, lessons will end at 12:40PM (12:10PM on Fridays).
Boarders are to return to the House BEFORE Maghrib on Monday, April 11th, 2022. New boarders who are 12 or older must bring a vaccination certificate. PCR tests are NOT required, but all students will be checked for symptoms on arrival. The pre-Covid 19 visitors policy/procedure will resume.
In the March Board of Governors meeting a 10% increase in school fees was approved. The fees were not increased throughout the 2 years of pandemic, but unfortunately, with costs now increasing at around 12%p.a., a fee increase was inevitable. In May 2020, the Board approved levying Rs440 per month to fund the Progressive School. This was delayed till after the pandemic. The Progressive School provides education, uniforms and textbooks to around 350 students, all of whom are the sons and daughters of our support staff. We sincerely thank everyone who supports the Progressive School and in doing so helps the least well-off within our community.
Promotion exams were conducted in May. The Promotion Criteria were relaxed for some classes (due to C19). Students in Classes 6-9 who achieved less than 50% in Maths or English are expected to attend after-school and Saturday morning remedial/catch-up classes in these subjects. There is no fee/charge for these remedial classes. A separate letter will be sent to these students’ parents.
All Parents are reminded that all Sadiq Public School students are expected to participate in clubs, sports, and community service. Parents are also reminded that students must attend school every day unless leave has been approved.
