The following information is to be completed by the applicant:

PLEASE PROVIDE INFORMATION ON YOUR ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST TWO YEARS

1. Describe your level of participation at school or in your community.*

In the past two years, during my O levels, I have participated in a variety of competitions and events.
To name a few,
Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, in which I won a Bronze and a Silver award
Inter-school Essay Writing Competition
Article for publication in the annual school magazine
English and Urdu Essay writing Competitions
Attended more than 10 Parliamentary Debating sessions, where my team won 3 out of 4 in the competition sector
Weekly debates, Inter-C3 Parliamentary debates (In which my team won the runnerups) and an external Parliamentary Debates Competition
House events including the Swimming Gala, and Inter-House badminton and football competitions
Club events such as the Literature Quiz (runner ups), Chess (that I won), and the global village event earlier this year

2. Describe ways you have demonstrated leadership at school, at home, or in your community.

I have always been a team player. For example, the parliamentary debates that I have participated in, it has always been collective brainstorming rather than actually dictating to my team what and what not to speak. I do encourage, to bring the best out of my team. But I have not yet had the opportunity to lead, at school or elsewhere. I do however, look forward to being able to showcase my leadership qualities in the future.

3. Describe how you demonstrate care and concern for those you live with- your family and friends or others in your community.

In the past, I’ve always been ready to help - and have helped - my classmates, juniors and my younger siblings with the problems they have had, both academically and otherwise. I try to be there to help out, be it at home for my parents and siblings or relatives, or at school, with fellow teachers and students.

4. Do you participate in any clubs or community groups? *

Have won the Chess Club Competition in my C2 year
Have participated 2 in the Literature quiz, both in C2 and C3. In the latter, my team were the runnerups
Have attended Parliamentary debating sessions and have won quite a few rounds of play
Have participated in the Global village, from the Dramatic Society’s side

5. Is there any other information you wish to provide to support your application for a Scholarship?

In addition to participating - and excelling - I have not neglected my academic results. I have recently scored straight A*s in my O Levels. Moreover, I have always scored first position in my class in the term exams ever since my admission in K1, and subsequently have won first and second prizes the school awards at the end of every school year on Founder’s Day, with winning first prize in all the three years of my O Levels. Furthermore, I have 100 % attendence in C3 and C2, certificates of which have been attached in 1.

6. If successful in being awarded a Scholarship, how would you contribute to the Sadiq Community?

I will honour this award, and will continue to thrive in my academics as well as my curriculars and extracurriculars to maintain this scholarship. Rest assured, you will not see my performance suffer. I will also encourage my fellow peers to try harder and their best academically or otherwise.
